Body Language of Audience Speaks Volumes About Newt Gingrich’s Performance

When you see an audience like the one pictured above who listened to Newt Gingrich speaking last evening and you  examine their body language,  you can see that most are showing signs that they are not  really that into him. Leaning over to he side, hands over mouth, chin jutting forth, arms crossed, lip biting, hand and finger biting and  recoiling backwards are not good signs when it comes to listening to  a potential Presidential Candidate.

Newt Gingrich’s performance was a far cry from his performance where he let CNN’s John King have it. You can’t blame his less than stellar performance ont the crowd. A crowd is only tough when they don’t like what you have to say or they loose respect for you and / or don’t like you.

Gingrich  was on the  defensive as opposed to being on the offensive as  Mitt Romney  hammered  him,  from his work at Freddie Mac to his sudden and abrupt  departure from Congress.

There was no humor, no charm, and no stimulating or rallying the crowd this time around.  He also seemed to look down a lot which does not display a lot of  confidence.

His attempt at humor by in essence wishing Fidel Castro to go to hell was  very lame and uncalled for.  There are much more dangerous and formidable enemies he could have targeted  by  this comment He could have mentioned   other world leaders  who are  truly very serious threats to the US.

At this point in time and in history , Fidel Castro is not the threat he was was  once thought to be. In over 50 years he has never attacked anyone on US soil.if you are going to send anyone to hell, why not mention Al Qaeda who are much more of a threat than 80 something year old Fidel Castro.

It was so obvious to me that by invoking Fidel Castro,  he was  clearly pandering to the very wealthy Cuban Americans, most of whom are Republicans, who fled Cuba back in the day. To me it was very manipulative.

Could  his tepid reception have something to do with the personal controversy surrounding him with his ex wife last week? Ever since his ex wife went on camera to let everyone know that Newt was not Presidential material and had no morals, initially  many chalked it up to a spouse scorned. But as they listened closely they heard something that did not sit well with them. Besides his alleged request for an open marriage, he apparently  began cheating on her and essentially left her after he discovered she had health problems- MS. This gives his ex- wife’s story a whole different perspective.

Then we have come to find out in various news reports  that this seems to be a pattern with Newt as this was not the first time he allegedly left a wife for health reasons. Apparently he hightailed it out of his first marriage after he discovered that his wife had breast cancer.

That is the lowest of the low. It is every spouses’s nightmare. While it is one thing to cheat and have an affair, it is another thing to cheat and have and affair and leave when your spouse is seriously ill and needs you there more than ever.  This did not happen one time. It happened twice. It shows a serious character flaw in my view. It shows that the man  ”goes” when the “going gets tough”.

What would happen when something really gets tough in our nation? Will he do the same?  Will he hightail it out of there like he did when he abruptly stepped down as Speaker of the House ?  Things were tough then back in the late 90′s  when members of the House  turned on him after unexpected losses in an  election. Instead of sticking it out and fighting and facing his adversaries head on, he hightailed it out of there.

This behavior and the  alleged behavior with his two  ex wives seem to reveal that in Toxic People terms, Newt is a “Runner” and not in the positive sense. I am not talking about a  a runner for an office,  or an athletic  runner . I am talking about the type of” runner” who runs away when things get too tough for him.

In this  last debate,  he seemed to verbally and communication wise,  run away. In my view this is not what we need to see in a future leader. We need someone who can withstand the heat and withstand the discomfort of dealing with any negative situation if they are to be our leader. Being a President is all about dealing with negative issues and handling them. Running away  in any shape or form is not an option.

There seems to be a pattern here and it is a very bad pattern that we are witnessing.

Did you finally get a proof reader? Whether you did or not, the post is well written and correct in grammar and spelling and I appreciate that.
As far as content….excellent and fascinating!

Jeffssis you probably don’t realize it, but your remark doesn’t present you in the best light.

The audience body language analysis is spot on. Many people knew about the wife-ditching tendency, but it was in the background whereas now, it’s center stage. That’s going to sink him like a rock.

  3. The guy comes across as an arrogant jackass. I’d never vote for him.
The mere fact that he has cheated on several of his wives shows he has no morals.I don’t want someone like that running our country.

Dr. Glass you are so right on! He is a longtime pathetic loser that has exhibited inappropriate behaviors and has said inappropriate things. He has ‘taught’ us our opinions of him. As I have said before, your eyes are the windows of your soul. His are cold dark and empty.

Please analyze Ron Paul or HIS audience!!!!! Or Obama from the State of the Union adress. Now those would be interesting.
